Position: Process Mechanic
i-80 Gold Corp is seeking a candidate to fill the position of Process Mechanic. The Process Mechanic will be responsible for the safe definition, trouble shooting, planning and completion of process related maintenance activities. Working closely with Process Operations. The Process Mechanic will define the requirements to complete work with completion occurring principally during scheduled shutdowns to achieve planned mechanical availability and production targets.
Location: Lone Tree Mine, Near Valmy, Nevada
Responsibilities:
Demonstrate a personal commitment to working safely as an advocate and leader of a safe work culture for all employees with a specific focus on lock-out procedures and avoiding hand related injuries
Actively participate in daily safety meetings
Provide leadership to prioritize work assignments
Build effective working relationships with all departments
Provide leadership by administering goals and standards of performance in all areas
Provide leadership in the effective implementation and support of a work order-based, preventive maintenance program
Supply and maintain their own tools. (A list of basic tools needed will be provided)
Provide input for formulating and defining policy at the mine site level
Provide positive mentoring to less experienced tradesmen
Review reports and work plans, perform spot inspections of equipment
Provide technical assistance for failure analysis on related components in conjunction with equipment manufacturers
Regularly check and record observations from vibration monitoring, oil sampling, lubrication checks or potential spillage from equipment on-surface
Coordinate and interface activities as required with OEM field service engineers to ensure that the requirements for equipment warranties are maintained
Ensure that all safety procedures and regulatory guidelines are followed
Support the site safety culture through leadership and regularly engaging with and holding the workforce accountable for safe work practices
Regularly inspect and follow-up with process maintenance to ensure the safe use, condition and functionality of gloves, non-conductive ladders, slings and shop tools
Participate in health and safety meetings and risk reviews as required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of plant maintenance experience required
Mechanical Maintenance journeyman license and welding certification is preferred
Experience with U.S. Mining Regulatory Agencies
Familiarity with maintenance procedures, including preventive non-destructive diagnostic methodologies in an industrial environment required
Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical drawings and specification documents
Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well with others required including process operations, technical specialists, site operators, contractors, supply chain and other functions
Demonstrated ability to perform essential functions of position required
A passion for innovative concepts that can transform the business
General knowledge of health & safety, mining, maintenance, and accounting functions
Knowledge of all phases of processing as it pertains to associated equipment
Knowledge and experience developing policies and procedures for the organization
Advanced computer skills applying Microsoft Office
Able to work independently, as well as an effective member of the team
Functional budgeting expertise
Strong verbal, written, analytical and communication skills with an ability to interact at all levels within the company
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude with the ability to show initiative
Able to work with minimal supervision
Some flexibility required for varied work hours during busy periods
Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
