The Finance Department's Accounting Unit is at the heart of Fluxys Group's financial management

It is responsible for general accounting, accounts receivable and accounts payable for all the Group's Belgian entities

The unit also plays an active role in developing new businesses focused on innovative molecules (gases).

The unit is divided into three subsections: General Accounting Fluxys Belgium and LNG oversees the general accounting of Fluxys Belgium and Fluxys LNG, General Accounting – Other Entities looks after all the remaining Belgian entities in the Group, and Working Capital is responsible for working capital management, including processes related to accounts payable and accounts receivable.

The General Accounting Fluxys Belgium and LNG section is looking for a Senior GL Accountant (m/f/x).

The Senior GL Accountant's role involves working on the month-end close for several Fluxys Group companies in accordance with Belgian accounting standards, analysing and justifying accounts, preparing financial statements and VAT returns, preparing internal and external reports, contributing to internal process improvement projects and assisting with statutory and internal audit checks.

You will be involved in: 

• Preparing the month-end close for several Fluxys Group companies, in accordance with Belgian accounting standards
• Analysing, checking and justifying accounts
• Preparing financial statements and annual accounts
• Preparing VAT returns
• Preparing reports for the company's internal and external clients
• Implementing ad hoc projects to improve existing internal processes
• Assisting the statutory auditor and internal audit team with their audits

• You hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or can demonstrate equivalent experience
• You are very familiar with month-end close procedures
• You have at least three years' relevant experience in a general accounting role (end-to-end accounting) and are keen to evolve in this field
• Knowledge of IFRS would be an asset
• You are a results-oriented team player and cope well with stress
• Highly detail-oriented, you are a critical thinker with strong analytical skills
• You are eager to learn and you make efforts to keep your knowledge up to date
• You have an excellent command of either French or Dutch and a good knowledge of the other language, as well as a satisfactory grasp of English
• You are a proficient user of MS Office (mainly Excel); knowledge of SAP is essential
