The Procurement Specialist serves as the analytical engine of the strategic sourcing process by supporting Category Managers, translating high-level category visions into operational reality through rigorous data science and market intelligence. By managing the end-to-end lifecycle—from market analysis to implementation—this role ensures all sourcing events are efficient, compliant, and data-backed. This role drives organizational value by upholding high standards of execution excellence and transparency in a data-driven environment.


Job Description

  • Support Category Managers in setting long term commercial strategic direction for assigned Business Services categories.

  • Influencing business and wider category stakeholders.

  • Developing a supply base to meet the changing requirements of the category.

  • Providing subject matter expertise on complex purchasing, technical, legal & contractual issues.

  • Defining governance around best practices and purchasing policies. 

  • Support Category Managers in achieving assigned category targets for cost reductions.

  • Responsible for category reporting.

  • Conduct thorough market research and spend analysis.

  • Identify potential suppliers and evaluate market trends/risks.

  • Draft and issue sourcing events (RFI/RFQ/RFP) based on data-driven insights; analyze supplier proposals against predefined weighted criteria; coordinate technical and commercial evaluations with subject matter experts; facilitate supplier presentations where necessary.

  • Finalize Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in collaboration with Category Managers.

  • Onboard the selected supplier(s) and ensure operational readiness.

  • Manage the transition from the sourcing project to steady-state operations.

  • Conduct post-project reviews to document lessons learned.

  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual terms in collaboration with Category Managers.

Must be open to support occasional evening work hours in support of North American business partners and suppliers


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, or Business).

  • 2+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain or strategic sourcing.

  • Understanding of the end-to-end strategic sourcing process (Internal Alignment to Implementation).

  • Business acumen and experience is a plus.

  • Core analytic skills to independently dive into an unclear area and make sense of it.

  • Strong ability to conduct spend analysis, market research and supplier evaluation.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholder relationships.

  • Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously with high attention to detail and deadlines.

  • Experience working in a large, complex, global business.

  • Experience running RFx processes.

  • Ability to conduct thorough supplier risk evaluations.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems.

  • Contract negotiations without much Legal guidance.

  • Technical proficiency in Excel and Google Suite.

  • Supplier and Customer oriented skills
