Job Description
Job Title: Roll Tender
Classification: Hourly
Location: Reno, NV
Roll Tender Summary:
Under the direction of Supervisor/ First-Second Operator oversees production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance, and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with Pregis policies and procedures.
Overview: Has ability to assist in the operation of multiple types of equipment according to all Standard Operating Procedures. Maintains Quality Standards and helps operate machine within acceptable levels for waste and productivity. Maintains consumables (paper ink water etc.) during production.
Roll Tender Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Load and Operates roll stand and auto splicer efficiently.
Log all rolls as required by Standard Operating Procedures.
Return left over stock to inventory according to S.O.P.
Helps to maintain consistent viscosity and PH level of ink fountains when necessary.
Maintain all glue levels as needed as well as monitoring thickness of glue.
Maintains continuous operations of label applicators.
Assist in M/R operations, setting up printer and gluers etc., as instructed by operator.
Assist in Wash ups as instructed by operator.
Assist in keeping line clean in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and as instructed by Line Operator.
Understands and demonstrates ability to accurately track press counts.
Follow line production to get necessary supplies for next job ready before press shuts down. Inclusive of paper, ink, plates, glue, job instructions.
Actively engages in Pregis apprenticeship program to ensure continuous improvement of self and company.
Keep general area clean and free of debris and spills of any kind.

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Five years of progressively responsible related experience
Environment:
Exposure to moving equipment
Inside work
Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit
Humidity may exceed 80%
Noise may exceed 85dB+
Personal Protective Equipment required
Physical Characteristics:
Frequent standing, stooping, sitting
Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
