Schedule: Standard business hours Monday-Friday
Location: Will rotate between UChicago Medicine AdventHealth Hospitals in Bolingbrook, Glendale Heights, Hinsdale and La Grange
Supervises and mentors Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) students and Supervisory Education Students (SES) to develop their competence in pastoral ministry. Provides individual and group supervision, including written evaluations, to ensure students meet educational and professional standards. Guides students in addressing the spiritual concerns and needs of patients, families, and staff. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to integrate spiritual care into the overall patient care plan. Conducts educational sessions and workshops to enhance students' pastoral skills and knowledge. Evaluates and provides feedback on students' pastoral care activities and progress. Develops and implements curriculum and training materials for the CPE program. Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and institutional policies. Facilitates reflective practice and theological reflection among students. Supports students in their personal and professional development. Maintains records and documentation related to student progress and program activities. Participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives for the CPE program.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Membership in appropriate organizations fostering standards of proficiency preferred, (e.g. Association of Professional Chaplains, Association of Clinical Pastoral Educators, etc). [Preferred]
Education:
Master's [Required]
Field of Study:
Master's of Divinity degree or other graduate theological degree (72-hour minimum) such as: pastoral care, spiritual care, etc. (as required for APC Board Certification qualification)
Work Experience:
2+ ministerial experience with experience in organizational leadership, group management, pastoral counseling, preaching, program development, pastoral services, etc [Required]
Clinical experience in counseling, pastoral care services, program development [Required]
Professional Chaplaincy in a healthcare setting [Required]
Additional Information:
Certification as an ACPE Inc. Certified Educator or Phase 2 Certified Educator Candidate
Board Certified Chaplain by Assoc of Professional Chaplains [Preferred]
ACPE Certified Educator with National Faculty designation [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
Ecclesiastical Endorsement Certificate (CHAPLAIN) [Preferred]
Ministerial License [Preferred]
Ordained Minister (ORDM) [Preferred]

Pay Range:
