You will have responsibilities including but not limited to:

Assists in the supervision of CASAC counselors (when assigned) and providing needed support during crisis. Senior counselors should be involved in the crisis intervention.

· Handles a small caseload, delivering all treatment components to assigned patients; providing both individual and group therapy.

· Ensures that the clients in their respective program, building or floor are supported throughout the day and works with the RSS and RSS supervisors on the day-to-day concerns.

· Participates in case conferences to assess patient progress, where needed; makes recommendations for changes in treatment planning and advancement to the next treatment level.

· Makes recommendations regarding program effectiveness and needed revisions to the program design and/or policies and procedures.

· Provides input for annual counselor performance evaluations for the Clinical Supervisor’s and/or Program Director’s review.

· Teach and train staff in the clinical aspects of a treatment, rendering individual training whenever necessary, while observing staff performance in actual treatment situations.

· Assist with the oversight of the CASAC intern program and training and onboarding.

· Medication monitoring.

  •  Ronkonkoma Residential – Ronkonkoma, NY

  •  Full Time-non-exempt

  •  Salary range $23.51 - $35.29.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

· High School Diploma/GED

· Bachelors preferred

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

· Independent license issued by NYS

· Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing, preferred

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

· Minimum three years of experience working with the substance use disorder population

· Minimum one year of experience in a supervisory role

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.
