Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Preventative Maintenance Field Service Technician (Lube Technician) performs onsite preventive maintenance including lighter duty maintenance and repair services on a variety of rental equipment to ensure that the equipment continues to run according to manufacturer’s specifications and is in optimal ready to use condition for rental customers.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Safely operate a Class C service body type truck on public roadways, on and off road on customer jobsites in all types of weather and lighting conditions.
Responsible for keeping the company truck and work site safe, clean, well maintained, and stocked appropriately.
Record maintenance and repair work performed by completing necessary paperwork in a timely and detailed manner
Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis on components and systems
Perform equipment inspections to identify potential problems and safety concerns such as abuse, defects, and wear.
Perform basic welding as necessary where applicable based on skill, knowledge and/or qualifications
Complete basic and advanced technical training as assigned
Maintain parts and supplies needed for job completion
Maintain a culture of safety, participate in all safety meetings, and having knowledge of and obeying all branch and jobsite safety requirements and practices.
Must be able to interact with customers while representing a high level of customer service.
Perform other service and maintenance related duties as assigned
Basic Knowledge & Competencies:
Excellent customer service skills
Basic knowledge or training in automotive, diesel, equipment repair. Familiarity with machinery and/or equipment used in construction, distribution, or manufacturing industry a plus.
Proficient mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge, problem- solving & efficient time management skills
Good verbal and written communication skills, detail oriented.
Previous Experience/Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred
3 months + experience in equipment repair or related industry preferred
Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience preferred
Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and bending on a frequent basis
Must be able to safely navigate and walk customer jobsites
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
Work in outside conditions in both cold and heat climates
Must furnish own tools
