We are seeking a person to perform as Commodity Buyer. This position is responsible for purchase of goods and services to support global multi-plant operations. This position will interact heavily with Manufacturing, Commodity Management, Engineering and Suppliers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for commodities or assignments requiring application of sound purchasing principles, theories and concepts.
- Coordinates purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner, thereby achieving optimum inventory cost and meeting customers’ demand.
- Processes purchase requisitions, purchase/change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers.
- Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity.
- Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information.
- Monitors the cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to negotiate highest quality at best value.
- Interacts closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
- Disposition of material Quality Notifications (QN’s)
- Implementation of Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Perform RFQ for Asia localization.
- Follow NPI and production plans, to deliver inventory, PPV and service targets.
- Manage the performance of the supply base effectively and participate in Global Material initiatives.
- Support Commodity and Sourcing objectives;
- Negotiate supplier terms & conditions
- Negotiate supplier pricing, Lead Time, upside flexibility
- Escalation path for critical commodity issues
- Provide market analysis and trends - Support and coordinate the supply chain transition of new products into production.
- Align and support Global Sourcing Managers Overall Procurement Strategies timely actualization.
Skills Required:
- A diploma or degree from an accredited college/university with a minimum > 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment and a demonstrated understanding of MRP, inventory, and production principles.
- Must be fluent in English communication in oral and written
- SAP experience preferred.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills essential.
- The individual should enjoy working in a dynamic and results motivated team.
- Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
- The ability to work in a multi-site and multi-time zone environment.
ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
A diploma or degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management or Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering required.
