This isn’t a “keep the trains running” management role. We need a leader who can build and steward high-performing scrum teams, drive operational excellence, own financial outcomes, and help shape the future of Vertech’s Digital Plant organization. You’ll lead self-organizing scrum teams delivering world class industrial automation and software solutions, while guiding strategic investments in internal development tools and accelerators that improve how we work and scale.

What You Will Be Doing
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing Professional Scrum teams capable of delivering world class customer outcomes
- Coach, mentor, and support team members through consistent feedback, career development, and leadership
- Ensure teams are staffed with the right people in the right roles while fostering Vertech’s culture and core values
- Own the financial performance and delivery outcomes of projects executed by your teams
- Serve as the primary escalation point for customers beyond the execution team
- Drive operational excellence using Professional Agile Leadership (PAL-E), Scrum principles, and Evidence Based Management (EBM)
- Govern and prioritize Digital Plant’s portfolio of internal software accelerators and development tools
- Partner with leadership to contribute to strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives
- Ensure investment initiatives are properly staffed, organized, funded, and aligned with company objectives
- Promote continuous improvement in delivery execution, technical excellence, and team collaboration
- Work closely with HR and leadership on hiring, onboarding, employee growth, and team performance
- Help create an environment where highly technical people genuinely enjoy coming to work
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (or equivalent industry experience)
- Deep expertise in Agile frameworks, Professional Scrum, and Professional Agile Leadership (PAL-E)
- 7+ years of experience in industrial automation and systems integration
- 3+ years of leadership experience with accountability for team success
- Strong understanding of software and industrial systems development methodologies including Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and related practices
- Proven ability to lead technical teams while balancing customer satisfaction, delivery quality, and financial performance
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Strong business acumen including understanding of project financials, margins, utilization, and operational efficiency
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience leading multiple Scrum teams simultaneously
- Background in software product or platform development
- Experience scaling Agile delivery organizations
- Passion for coaching and developing technical talent
- A desire to build systems and teams that continuously improve over time
