We are seeking an experienced, talented and dependable individual who share our values to join our team as Assistant General Manager. This position plays a pivotal role to effectively plan, organize, direct and co-ordinate with the General Manager & Senior Managers to ensure the efficient operations of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization

  • Financial management including assisting in the preparation of all yearly financial and marketing budgets and strategic plan.

  • Assist with marketing, sales and promotional strategies ensuring that they align with business goals and objectives

  • Maintain excellent customer service relations both internally & externally

  • Ensure compliance, monitor & mitigate operational risks throughout the organization. 

  • Ensure strategic enhancement within the organization

  • Build strong communication channels across all divisions and at various levels within the organization

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or a related field. An MBA or related discipline will be considered an asset.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ of progressive senior management experience in multi-department organizations.

  • Background in retail, automotive, shipping or distribution sectors is highly preferred.

  • Experience managing large teams in a unionized setting.

  • Demonstrated success in operational leadership and strategic planning.

  • Proven track record in financial management and cost optimization.

  • Experience in change management and organizational development.

Skills:

Leadership & People Management 

​Proven ability to lead diverse teams across multiple departments.

Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, especially in unionized environments.

Operational Excellence

Expertise in process optimization, cost control, and efficiency improvement.

Ability to manage logistics, inventory, and supply chain operations.

Strategic Planning & Execution

Skilled in developing and implementing business strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities.

Financial Acumen

Budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management experience.

Ability to interpret financial reports and drive profitability.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication for internal and external stakeholders.

Ability to foster collaboration across departments.

Compliance & Labor Relations

Knowledge of labor laws, union agreements, and compliance requirements.

Experience in handling grievances and maintaining positive labor relations.

Customer Service Orientation

Commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences across retail and service channels.

Technology & Systems Proficiency

Familiarity with ERP systems, inventory management software, and MS Office Suite.
