ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our GEL Head Office in Barbados. This role reports directly to the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
The Business Analyst is responsible for the financial analysis needed to support the evaluation of Merger and Acquisition opportunities and investments. The Business Analyst will partner with Executive/Divisional teams to deliver maximum value on deal transactions and to contribute to strategic initiatives that drive growth across the group. He/she will also support the divestitures of companies in the company’s portfolio.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As Business Analyst – your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with the Group CFO to evaluate acquisition targets
- Building, analysing and maintaining financial models that inform short- and long-term planning
- Liaising with divisional teams and finance personnel to draft pitch decks, confidential information management (CIM) and management presentations
- Supporting the Group CFO in performing valuations and preparing monthly and quarterly reports of financial performance
- Working with finance personnel to conduct intangible asset impairment reviews
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- An accounting qualification, such as, ACCA, CPA, CGA, CMA, Level 2 CFA
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting or Economics
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience (areas such as transaction/advisory services, corporate finance).

- Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills
- Advanced skills in Excel and data visualization tools e.g. Power BI
- Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a diverse and fast paced environment
- Strong team player
