Reporting to the Human Resources Supervisor, you will be part of the Human Resources Department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. 

 

  • Support the Community Relations and Recruitment Team in promoting apprenticeship opportunities within the mining industry across schools and educational settings; 

  • Maintain relationships regarding the various provincial college/high school initiatives;  

  • Participate in Skill Trades Ontario (STO) and Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development (MLITSD) events, trade fairs, information sessions, and community engagement activities to support program awareness; 

  • Provide administrative support for the apprenticeship registration process, including assisting with employer registrations; 

  • Help prepare and submit applications through the Skilled Trades Ontario (STO) portal; 

  • Assist candidates through the apprenticeship application process, including guidance on portal access and document submission; 

  • Ensure required documentation (e.g., ATA - Apprenticeship Training Application and RTA – Registered Training Agreement) is collected, completed and accurate, and submitted within timelines; 

  • Assist in the administrative coordination of apprentice training, including liaising with departments and supervisors as required; 

  • Maintain records and generate routine reports to track apprenticeship registrations, participant progress, and program outcomes; 

  • Identify and communicate additional resources and supports available to enhance the apprenticeship program; 

  • Perform other administrative and coordination duties in support of the Apprenticeship Program as required; 

  • Assist in the coordination of scheduling and arrangements required for Trade School. 

  • Previous administrative, coordination, or customer service experience preferred; experience in apprenticeship or recruitment is considered an asset; 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with candidates, schools, and internal teams; 

  • Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to support multiple tasks and meet deadlines; 

  • Basic understanding of apprenticeship programs and processes (e.g., Apprenticeship Training Applications (ATA) and Registered Training Agreements (RTA)) is an asset, or willingness to learn; 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Power BI; experience with databases or tracking systems is required; 

  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel occasionally to support program activities; 

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment; 

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality; 

  • Resourceful with good problem-solving skills and a willingness to ask questions and learn; 

  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to follow through on assigned tasks; 

  • Interest in supporting training, development, or apprenticeship programs is an asset; 

  • Basic coaching or support skills, with the ability to guide participants through processes as needed. 

 

Your Work Schedule: 

  • Schedule: 4/3 or 5/2 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine; 

  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Compensation Statement

In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity. Your individual pay will reflect your skills and experience while remaining competitive within the local market.
