WPF Modernisation ArchitectJob Description
Job Title: WPF Modernization Architect
Your Role:
Own architecture and hands-on development of the WPF toolkit (controls, styles/templates, theming/tokens, patterns, documentation, samples).
Drive simplicity, maintainability, performance, and accessibility, operating within a QMS environment.
Drive AI-assisted development and migration strategies: leverage agentic workflows, code generation tools, and automation to accelerate adoption of the design system across products.
Act as backlog owner: gather requirements from Philips businesses, define epics/stories and acceptance criteria, estimate, prioritize, and plan releases.
Define toolkit roadmap, versioning and release strategy, deprecation/migration guidance, and adoption documentation.
Establish engineering standards: code reviews, static/dynamic analysis, automated testing strategy, CI/CD quality gates, and release readiness.
Lead customer-facing enablement: run onboarding sessions, office hours, trainings, and create guidance that helps teams successfully adopt the library.
Partner with designers for strong design-to-code fidelity and align with web/mobile counterparts to maintain cross-platform consistency.
Broader experience with web and/or mobile development to support mentoring and cross-platform alignment.
Experience scaling design systems (documentation, governance, adoption). Familiarity with Figma-based workflows is a plus.
Domain familiarity with enterprise/healthcare software; standards like FHIR, DICOM, HL7 are a plus.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot, Codex, etc, or similar) or building agentic workflows to accelerate engineering productivity. Interest in applying automation and AI to scale frontend migrations and design system adoption.
You're the right fit if:
You have Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent with 12+ years of experience in software engineering.
Strong expertise in .NET/WPF and UI architecture, with a broad understanding of modern frontend technologies and patterns.
Expert-level software design/implementation skills; able to make and defend architectural choices and tradeoffs.
Strong stakeholder management skills: comfortable working with multiple business units as “customers,” aligning priorities, and driving adoption.
Able to translate customer needs into a prioritized backlog and deliver predictable, high-quality releases.
Proficiency with static and dynamic code analysis tools and high engineering-quality standards.
Acts as a force multiplier by reducing manual integration effort through tooling, automation, and scalable patterns.
