Job Description
First-McNess Company is hiring a full-time Logistics Dispatcher Specialist for our Lake City, FL location.
Starting Pay: Compensation will be determined by relevant experience and the interview process
Pay Type: Salary, paid bi-weekly
Core Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Work Setting: Onsite, in-office.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Logistics Specialist plays a key role in coordinating daily transportation activities to ensure timely, efficient delivery of products to customers. This position manages routing for company drivers, schedules third‑party carriers as needed, and supports overall fleet performance. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance customer needs with operational efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Route and dispatch company trucks to maximize efficiency, service quality, and driver equity

Coordinate third‑party carriers and backhauls to optimize fleet utilization

Monitor driver performance and ensure compliance with DOT and company policies

Maintain accurate records for drivers, equipment, and fleet operations

Review and approve driver expenses and cash advances
-
Support compliance with DOT, FDA, EPA, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements

Communicate daily with logistics leadership, sales, merchandising, and drivers

Identify and report equipment needs or operational issues

Assist with additional logistics tasks as needed to support departmental goals

Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field; equivalent experience considered

Minimum 2 years of dispatching or transportation coordination experience

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to manage after‑hours calls related to logistics needs

Proficiency with computers and common business software (e.g., Word, Excel, email platforms)

Experience with ERP systems or routing/dispatch software preferred

Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities

Customer‑service mindset with a sense of urgency and problem‑solving ability

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to changing business needs

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally as required
