Job Description
The Logistics Specialist works independently on day-to-day sales coordination activities, responding to internal and customer enquiries with some initiative. Analyses and improves existing processes and may guide and influence others within their area of expertise. Operates at a local to national level, with 2–5 years of relevant experience required.
Roles & Responsibilities –
International Logistics:
Coordinate all import and export shipments from multiple factories and suppliers.
Collect order status reports, packing lists, and shipment details from different factories.
Decide the appropriate freight mode based on material weight & dimensions, customer requirements, supplier lead time, freight cost, and overall order profitability.
Provide shipping instructions to freight forwarders and logistics partners.
Coordinate with factories, CHA, and freight forwarders to ensure timely shipment movement and achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD).
Follow up with production, quality, stores, and warehouse teams for timely dispatch of materials.
Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve logistics-related issues or delays.
Review CHA invoices, freight forwarder invoices, and transport bills as per agreed contracts in Basware system.
Outbound Logistics:
Manage end-to-end outbound logistics activities including dispatch planning, shipment scheduling, and customer deliveries.
Coordinate with warehouse, transporters, and customers for timely delivery of finished goods.
Ensure proper vehicle placement and route planning for optimized transportation.
Monitor dispatch performance and ensure compliance with delivery commitments.
Track goods in transit and update stakeholders regarding shipment status.
Handle customer logistics queries, delivery follow-up, and escalation management.
Ensure proper documentation for dispatch, invoicing, and transportation compliance
Finalize and manage Annual Rate Contracts (ARC) with transporters and logistics service providers.
Coordinate dispatch planning and ensure timely delivery to customers.
Coordinate with Accounts Department for invoice submission and timely vendor payment clearance.
Ensure compliance with company logistics policies and transportation agreements.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Knowledge of import/export procedures, outbound logistics, and domestic transportation operations.
Experience in coordinating with freight forwarders, CHA, transporters, warehouses, and factories.
Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Good analytical and decision-making abilities for freight planning and cost optimization.
Proficiency in MS Excel and MIS reporting.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
Understanding of shipping documentation, dispatch processes, and transportation contracts.
