Yokogawa Corporation of America is seeking a highly motivated Large Project Business Development Manager to support strategic large project pursuits within the energy and process industries across North America. This position is based in Houston, Texas.
This is a senior individual contributor role focused on identifying, developing, and coordinating large capital project opportunities with owner/operators, EPC firms, and strategic industry stakeholders. The successful candidate will help position Yokogawa as a strategic Main Automation Contractor (MAC) partner for major industrial projects.
The role requires strong understanding of large capital project development cycles. The individual will work closely with Yokogawa key account managers, EPC account teams, proposal organizations, consultants, and business units to support strategic project pursuits from early development through project award.
The ideal candidate may come from industrial sales, project management, program leadership, EPC organizations, automation execution, or related industrial leadership roles. Prior deep sales experience is valuable but not required. Yokogawa is willing to develop advanced sales and pursuit skills for candidates who demonstrate strong project leadership capability, strategic thinking, communication skills, and relationship-building potential.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and support large project opportunities within the process industries
· Develop relationships with EPC firms, owner/operators, licensors, and strategic partners
· Coordinate closely with Yokogawa key account managers and EPC account teams
· Support positioning of Yokogawa as a Main Automation Contractor (MAC) partner
· Engage customers and EPCs early in project development cycles
· Coordinate internal pursuit teams across sales, proposals, consulting, and business units
· Support executive engagement and strategic customer relationship development
· Monitor capital project activity, market trends, and competitive positioning
· Represent Yokogawa at industry events, customer meetings, and strategic project discussions
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
· Bachelor’s degree Marketing, Engineering or Business, or equivalent industry experience
· 7+ years of experience in industrial projects, automation, EPC environments, program management, business development, or related industrial markets
· Understanding of large capital project environments and project execution cycles
· Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
· Ability to coordinate across multiple teams, functions, and stakeholders
· Ability to travel up to 35% as required, including international travel
Preferred
· Experience supporting or leading major industrial projects or pursuits
· Familiarity with EPC organizations and project development processes
· Experience within refining, chemicals, LNG, power, or related process industries
· Familiarity with industrial automation or digitalization solutions
· Experience engaging executive or senior project stakeholders
· Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authority
