Regional Sales Manager – Midwest, Position Overview
We are looking for a sales driven individual to not only manage existing business but grow the customer base on the Midwest United States. This person would be responsible for driving growth and selling the full line of offerings within Prestone- PFX to aftermarket customers. The Regional Manager would be responsible for leveraging national programs as well as running customer specific marketing and promotions along with product training and support. Prestone (a PFX company) is a fast-growing company with multiple line offerings so adaptability and flexibility are a must. This is an individual contributor position and will be managing a region/territory, not a team (no direct reports).
This position will require 75%+ travel across the assigned territory, Midwest region (Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota). Preference towards candidates based in Iowa and Minnesota.
The expected compensation for this position is an annual salary of $100,000-$115,000 (bonus eligible), depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Responsibilities:
Drive Heavy duty coolant sales within territory via new distribution and existing customer base.
Work with Light Duty, and Heavy-Duty Business Development Managers in an effort to secure new business and service existing customers.
Develop business relationships with and actively solicit business from all Aftermarket, (light duty and heavy duty) customers in the assigned region (Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota).
Contact established customers on a regular schedule in addition to prospecting new opportunities.
Regularly contact prospective customers to obtain new business.
Maintain a current opportunities list and follow-up on all inquiries and leads.
Assume responsibility that all customers are aware of new programs, promotions, advertising materials, and policies.
Work with existing customer base to consult/train their employees on how to productively sell all Prestone/PFX product lines including Prestone Antifreeze and Prestone Performance Chemicals.
Work with customers to assure that they are fully stocked with necessary products, catalogs, and marketing materials.
Know and understand your competition and their policies, pricing structure, distribution, strengths, and weaknesses.
Supply necessary credit information on opportunities and existing customers as directed and perform collection follow-up calls when asked.
Assume responsibility to keep Aftermarket team and Corporate Office informed of competitive activity, effective sales programs, and customer reaction to company programs/policies.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Previous account management 3-5 years desired in Automotive/Heavy Duty Channels
Ability to travel within multiple territories consistently each week (4-5 nights per week avg.)
Strong desire to prospect and sell new customers
