About the role
As Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across our Canadian and U.S. locations. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you will maintain compliance with all applicable legislation, support HR and Finance functions, and contribute to a seamless employee experience within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What you will do
Process full-cycle payroll for Canadian and U.S. locations using Ceridian Dayforce.
Oversee timecards and time-off policies, ensuring days worked are accurately recorded.
Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
Respond promptly and professionally to payroll inquiries from employees and management.
Collaborate with HR and Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies and issues.
Maintain employee records including rate changes, terminations, and Records of Employment (ROEs).
Produce monthly payroll reports for the Accounting department (payroll journals, allocation reports, vacation accrual reports, etc.).
Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts in partnership with Accounting.
Manage payroll documentation, including maintaining files, generating reports, preparing journal entries, supporting audits, and assisting with year-end activities for Canada and the U.S.
Stay current on payroll legislation and ensure ongoing compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Support special projects and payroll system implementations as needed.
What you bring
College diploma in Administration, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of payroll experience, including proven experience in both unionized and non-unionized environments (Canadian and U.S. payroll).
Experience with Ceridian Dayforce (required).
PCP (Payroll Compliance Professional) designation, completed or in progress.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Bilingual in English and French, both spoken and written.
Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, planning, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
Highly independent, proactive, and comfortable working with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and commitment to strict confidentiality.
