
Electrical Engineering Technician
Job Description
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to start.
- AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience, or HS + 5 years related (DoD/USN) experience.
- Candidate must have experience with the use of naval ship blueprint and technical manual drawings to produce artwork suitable for inclusion in documentation.
- Candidate must be capable of operating mechanical tools, power tools, perform cable terminations, and move heavy equipment to fabricate test enclosures.
- Candidate must be comfortable working within electrical equipment, including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage switchboards, generators, transformers, and load centers.
- Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.
- Ability to work on and climb ladders, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
- Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
- Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
- Review and redline schematics, engineering drawings and written instructions.
- Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
- Perform terminations, run wiring and install conduit,
- Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
