Job Description

Nishimura & Asahi is Japan's largest law firm, with a global network of offices and alliances across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. We provide comprehensive legal services to domestic and international clients, covering a wide range of practice areas and industries. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced business development professional to join our team and support our strategic growth and client relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business development plans and initiatives to enhance the firm's profile, reputation, and market position in key sectors and regions, in alignment with the firm's vision and goals.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and leads, and coordinate and prepare proposals, pitches, and presentations for potential and existing clients, in collaboration with partners and lawyers.
  • Developing and implementing a strategic and coordinated approach to legal directory and awards submissions across various practice areas, regions, and sectors.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to monitor and evaluate the firm's performance, competitive landscape, client feedback, and industry trends, and provide insights and recommendations to the management and practice groups.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business, marketing, law, or a related field.
  • Preferably 3+ years of relevant experience in business development, marketing, or client relationship management in a law firm or a professional services environment, ideally with exposure to the Asian market.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities and challenges in a dynamic and competitive market.
  • High level of professionalism, initiative, and creativity, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and multicultural environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and other relevant software and tools.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese, both written and spoken. Additional language skills are a plus.
