Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.
The work model for the role is: hybrid / flexible
This role is contributing to the work in Functional Safety related areas under ABB PAEN business area, generally in Oil & Gas with Chemicals & Pharma industries (but not limited to) being mainly assigned to highly interesting and technologically advanced Projects within European locations and beyond. Your main stakeholders are Team Leader with Team Coordinator on the Line Management basis and Project Manager with Project Team members on the Project basis.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors.
Coaching the project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations.
Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (less than 10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects.
Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.

Qualifications for the role
Electrical education
(secondary grade is minimum)Advanced knowledge of German language
(any other international language is considered as advantage)IEC61508, IEC61511, Machinery Safety Standards & SISTEMA, exSILentia or similar Tools knowledge
(are considered as advantage)Experience in automation & leadership of project team(s)
