Position Overview
The Child Death Review Board (CDRB), housed within the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth, reviews information from agencies involved in child death investigations, as well as services provided to children prior to death. The Board determines whether maltreatment caused or contributed to a child’s death and whether the death was preventable.
The Child Death Review Board is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Case Manager to request, review, analyze, and organize records related to the deaths and near deaths of children in Oklahoma. This position prepares thorough and accurate case summaries for review by CDRB members and works closely with Board members to support the review process. The Case Manager collaborates with professionals across multiple systems, including law enforcement, medical providers, child welfare, and mental health services.

Typical Functions
The functions performed in this job family vary by level, unit, and organization, but may include the following:
- Requests records from multiple entities—including law enforcement agencies, medical providers, and mental health facilities—via phone and email
- Reviews, sorts, and organizes records into secure digital files and documents receipt of materials
- Works within multiple databases to manage case information
- Prepares comprehensive case narratives for Board member review
- Works directly with Board members, including onboarding and ongoing support
- Records and prepares official meeting minutes for CDRB meetings
- Completes required post-meeting documentation and follow-up materials
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Professionalism and emotional resilience when handling sensitive and difficult subject matter
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of protected information
Special Note:
This position requires regular review of traumatic materials, including graphic reports and photographs, which may be emotionally challenging.
Education & Experience
Education and experience requirements at this level include:
- A bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Work, Public Health, or a related human services field and
- Three years of professional experience in business or public administration
A combination of education and experience may be substituted. Each year of qualifying technical administrative experience may substitute for one year of the required education or work experience.
Technical administrative experience includes highly complex clerical work performed under the direct supervision of a professional supervisor or manager.

- Ability and willingness to perform all required job-related travel.
