Job Description
Description
- Perform geologic and geotechnical evaluations to support mining, solution mining, and subsurface infrastructure projects
- Integrate surface and subsurface data to develop geological models, cross-sections, structure maps, and geotechnical interpretations
- Conduct applied geotechnical assessments including stratigraphy, structure, lithologic variability, and rock mass characterization
- Support directional drilling and well planning activities where applicable, including target selection, trajectory considerations, and post-drill evaluations
- Build, maintain, and interpret GIS-based datasets and maps to support project planning, land evaluation, infrastructure routing, and risk assessment
- Develop and maintain regional and site-scale geologic and infrastructure maps, including surface facilities, rights-of-way, and subsurface constraints
- Analyze and synthesize large, multi-source datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities relevant to mining and subsurface development
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to support development planning, execution, and post-project evaluations
- Contribute to technical due diligence and internal studies supporting project development, acquisitions, or strategic initiatives
- Research industry activity, regulatory data, and public datasets to inform technical and business recommendations
- Prepare clear, concise technical deliverables including maps, figures, and written summaries for internal stakeholders
- Work effectively within integrated, cross-functional teams and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
- 3–5 years of applied professional experience in geology, mining geology, geotechnical geology, or closely related fields
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, Earth Science, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated applied experience with GIS software (ArcGIS required)
- Strong working knowledge of subsurface data interpretation, stratigraphy, and structural geology
- Experience integrating geological data into practical development or operational decisions
- Ability to manage and analyze large datasets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Experience supporting mining operations, solution mining, or subsurface resource development projects
- Prior oil and gas experience as it relates to directional drilling, operations geology, or geotechnical evaluation
- Familiarity with geomechanical concepts and their application to drilling, excavation, or subsurface stability
