- Perform diagnostic radiographic and CT procedures using appropriate protocols to obtain clear, accurate images as ordered by the physician.
- Position patients correctly to ensure optimal imaging results while maintaining their safety, comfort, and dignity.
- Administer contrast media as requested by the provider, following established hospital protocols and ensuring patient safety throughout the process.
- Start and maintain IV lines as necessary for imaging procedures requiring contrast.
- Apply radiation protection techniques according to BCH safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review and evaluate images for quality, making adjustments as necessary to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and image storage in compliance with hospital policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Assist radiologists and physicians during imaging procedures as needed.
- Monitor and maintain imaging equipment, reporting any issues or malfunctions promptly.
- Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols at all times.
- Participate in continuing education and competency evaluations to ensure compliance with licensing and certification standards.
- Certification: ARRT credentialed in Radiography and Computed Tomography (required)
- Licensure: Current Virginia State Radiologic Technologist license (preferred)
- CPR/BLS Certification: Required (may be obtained upon hire)
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year in medical imaging (preferred)
- Knowledge: Radiation safety principles, anatomy and physiology, and imaging best practices
- 7p-7a and weekends.
