Job Description
Freese and Nichols is seeking a National Standards Manager to join our Technical Organization. This position reports to the Technical Excellence Director with a primary focus on advancing quality and technical consistency across the organization. The National Standards Manager will work in lockstep with other firmwide programs and initiatives (e.g., with Project Delivery and Risk and Compliance). This may include leading and coordinating cross-functional projects, research, development, implementation, and communication firmwide.
What You’ll Do
Serve as a liaison between Technical Excellence and other parts of the organization, as needed, for the advancement of quality and technical consistency. This may include interaction with Project Delivery, Risk and Compliance, or other teams.
Develop and deploy standards, processes, tools, and training.
Provide data analysis for Key Focus Indicators (KFIs) and other business metrics.
Monitor our firmwide continuous improvement tool and coordinate completion of ideas, as assigned.
Engage in ongoing improvements to our Quality Management System, which may include data analysis, development of summary documentation, updates to the QMS Manual, and other tasks.
Coordinate with Business Technology on updates to processes and tools within any of the three functional teams.
In coordination with the Technical Resource Librarian, develop, implement, and manage a program for our suite of Technical Specifications.
Participate in R&D projects, which may include proposal development, approval, coordination, and/or participation in completing the project.
Support Strategic Initiatives within the Growth and Technical Organization, to include AI and others as needed. Engage with the Applied Technology Leader to support programs and initiatives related to the use of technology in delivery of our services.
Provide support to our team of National Technical Leaders and Specialists to research, analyze, and/or provide insight into industry trends related to technologies across services and practices in support of Strategic Planning and Annual Operating Plan development, as requested.
Intranet content and digital document management support for Technical Excellence in coordination with PR/Communications and our National Technical Leaders/Specialists.
Other activities or special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in A/E consulting preferred, with cross-functional depth within an A/E organization.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences, which may include executive leadership, senior management, project teams and technical staff.
Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize work with many competing priorities.
Problem-solving: A proactive, analytical mindset capable of identifying, developing work plans, and solving complex assignments with a demonstrated ability to work independently.
Adaptability: A commitment to continuous learning and working in a diverse and at times ambiguous environment.
