Donaldson is seeking an Applications & Supplier Development Engineer to support the growth of our Process Filtration business within the Life Sciences segment in Brazil. This role combines application engineering, supplier development, and product localization responsibilities to help deliver competitive, technically sound, and locally sustainable filtration solutions.
Working closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and external suppliers, this position will play a key role in expanding Donaldson's market presence, strengthening local supply capabilities, and supporting the development of customized process filtration solutions.
Role Responsibilities:
Applications Engineering & Technical Support
Review customer process requirements and recommend technically appropriate filtration solutions for Food & Beverage and Life Sciences applications.
Perform product sizing, application analysis, and technical evaluations based on flow rate, pressure, temperature, viscosity, density, and filtration performance requirements.
Support Territory Managers in developing technical proposals, solution recommendations, and competitive positioning strategies.
Conduct technical benchmarking, product comparisons, and cross-reference analyses to support business growth and solution optimization.
Conduct site risk assessments in collaboration with Sales to propose process improvements and filtration solutions.
Supplier Development & Localization
Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop local suppliers and manufacturing partners to support business growth and supply chain expansion.
Lead supplier capability assessments, qualification activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure quality, capacity, and performance requirements are met.
Develop local resources to provide filtration solutions according to regional requirements aligned with our technical specifications.
Collaborate closely with Procurement and Supply Chain teams to expand local sourcing opportunities and support long-term supplier development strategies.
Project Development & Cross-Functional Coordination
Coordinate customized application and product development projects from concept through implementation.
Act as the technical interface between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and external suppliers to ensure alignment of technical and business requirements.
Prepare technical specifications, manufacturing requests, engineering documentation, and product configuration requirements.
Support product testing, validation, troubleshooting, and implementation activities to ensure successful project execution.
Knowledge Management & Training
Develop and maintain application knowledge, technical standards, engineering documentation, and best practices.
Deliver technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions to internal stakeholders, supporting the continued development of technical expertise across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Process Engineering, Industrial Equipment, Application Engineering, Supplier Development, or related technical roles.
Professional working proficiency in English and Portuguese.
Experience working within industrial manufacturing, engineered products, or process industries.
Strong understanding of industrial process fundamentals, including flow, pressure, temperature, viscosity, and density.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Water Treatment, or hygienic processing industries.
Experience with filtration systems, process equipment, fluid handling systems, pumps, valves, or related technologies.
Experience with supplier qualification, supplier development, or localization initiatives.
Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly.
Knowledge of sanitary design principles and hygienic process equipment.
Intermediate or advanced Spanish language skills.
Work Environment & Location
Location: Itatiba, São Paulo, Brazil.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid work model, with four (04) days per week on-site and one (01) day per week working remotely.
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel Requirements: Up to 20% travel.
