
Linen Room Attendant - Steady Extra (Harrah's LV)
Job Description
Responsible for providing friendly, courteous service to guests/co-workers while working in their assigned area. Laundry Attendant coordinates the production of dry cleaning and hotel laundry. Performs special projects assigned as necessary to maintain quality in suites. Projects may include draperies; upholstery, linen, etc.
• Sorts dried articles according to type. Sorts torn and stained articles.
• Sorts and counts articles to verify quantities. Keeps accurate record of repairs and worn articles.
• Soaks contaminated articles and processes appropriately.
• Folds and places item in appropriate storage areas.
• Clean lint traps and inspects equipment for necessary repairs.
• Loads items into washers and uses appropriate supplies necessary to clean articles.
• Operates equipment, such as, washer, dryers, irons, etc.
• Complies with all OSHA and Safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain work areas in a clean and safe manner.
• Assist co-workers with tasks on an as needed basis.
• Comply with all department policies/procedures and service guarantees.
• Perform all job duties safely using personal protective equipment.
• Perform necessary preventative maintenance on equipment or schedule maintenance when necessary.
• Attend all training classes as requested.
• Attend and participate in pre-shift department meetings.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
• Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
• Work requires a neat appearance with good hygiene.
• Work requires flexibility to work various shifts.
• Work requires a minimum of 1 year related work experience.
• Ability to maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift.
• Ability to logically and independently plan, organize, and complete work; take initiative.
• Must be able to get along well with co-workers. Possess well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Receive instructions and hear inquiries from guests, clients, or staff.
• Ability to remain alert throughout the duration of shift and remain calm during emergency situations.
• Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel; climb, ascend and descend stairs; maintain equilibrium for an extended period of time.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances.
• Ability to push and/or pull approximately 300 - 400 pounds on wheels.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 110 - 120 pounds.
• Ability to work from a standing and/or kneeling position for extended periods of time.
