Position Title: Part-Time Product Development Associate (Food Prep Assistant) 1st shift - RQH
Department: Product Development
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (hours may vary)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, with Saturdays as needed (up to 32 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $18/hour - $20/hour
Reports To: Product Development Manager
Location: Holland, Michigan
Job Summary:
The Food Prep Assistant supports daily operations within the Product Development and Quality Assurance teams by preparing frozen and entrée products for evaluation, following precise heating and cooking instructions. This role is responsible for accurately documenting food quality data including viscosities, temperatures, drain weights, and sensory feedback using a netbook computer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily preparation of frozen/fresh soup products produced from the prior production day following appropriate heating/cooking instructions.
- Documentation, and data entry of, required food quality data (i.e., viscosities, temperatures, drain weights, comments from the evaluation of products, etc.) using a netbook computer.
- Assisting with specific customer projects such as shipping ingredients to customers.
- Conducting testing and demonstrations during on-site customer visits.
- Assisting with various tasks as necessary.
Essential Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in culinary arts, food science, or a related field is a plus.
- Basic understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks, following instructions and following through to achieve results.
- Possessing a high level of personal initiative and motivation.
- Possess basic mathematical, written, and interpersonal communication skills which are essential to the success of the position, especially during customer interactions.
- Comfortable using computers and entering data accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to assist with a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Range: $18 - $20 per hour
