Facilities/Maintenance Specialist

(12~month position)

REPORTS TO:  Business Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
2. Minimum of 2 years experience in the maintenance field.
3. Capable of performing manual labor, lifting heavy objects (up to 75–100 pounds), and operating machinery for extended periods.
4. Must demonstrate a firm knowledge of guidelines and procedures pertaining to the role.
5. Employment with the Academy of Dover is contingent upon successful completion of:

• Criminal Background Check
• Child Protection Registry
• TB Test
• Verification of Credentials and Past Employment
• Adhere to Academy Policies and Procedures

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Perform routine inspections and repairs of school buildings
2. Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools.
3. Care for outdoor areas such as lawns, playgrounds, and parking lots. Tasks include mowing, raking, snow removal, landscaping, and general upkeep
4. Maintain and organize maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring proper storage and functionality
5. Inspecting the school premises regularly to identify issues requiring maintenance and repair
6. Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment and building systems
7. Maintaining and repairing school facilities including classrooms, restrooms, athletic fields, and playground equipment
8. Adhering to health and safety regulations, including proper use of protective equipment
9. Removing snow or other hazards from walkways and public areas to prevent accidents
10. Keeping records of maintenance and repair work
11. Responding quickly to emergency situations and executing evacuation plans if necessary
12. Ensuring all utilities, such as electricity and water supply, are in good working condition
13. Collaborate with staff members.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.
