Shotfirer - Maules Creek

  About The Role Whitehaven Coal is seeking an experienced Shotfirer to lead and coordinate Drill and Blast activities at Maules Creek Mine. Working closely with the Drill and Blast Superintendent, this role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and crews across all drilling and blasting activities. We are seeking a safety-focused Shotfirer who leads by example, demonstrates visible leadership on site, and fosters a fair and supportive working environment. This role operates on a 7/7 shift pattern and is based at Maules Creek Mine near Gunnedah, NSW. What You’ll Do Oversee all drilling, loading and shotfiring activities in accordance with site procedures Conduct safe blasting operations and ensure a safe work area is maintained Provide support and on-the-ground supervision to Drill & Blast crew and conduct regular safety briefings Conduct risk assessments, pre-blast inspections and post-blast evaluations What You’ll Bring Blasting explosives user licence Shot firing tickets or relevant experience in an open cut pit Current Drivers Licence Adherence to and active participation of our STRIVE Values (Safety, Teamwork, Respect, Integrity, Value, Excellence) Why Whitehaven Coal?
