Description

Oxford Economics, a leading economic forecasting and consulting firm, is looking to hire an Economist / Senior Economist, sitting in our Asia Macro Consulting team. Based in Oxford Economics’ Singapore office, the unit is responsible for a wide range of macro consulting projects in Asia. The position will report to the Associate Director of Asia Macro Consulting (based in Vietnam). 

The position offers the opportunity to join a dynamic team with the prospect of accelerated career development for those who do well. The position will also entail extensive client contact and possible travelling within the region to deliver projects and support clients. The role provides a significant opportunity to work on a wide range of interesting projects as well as develop proposal writing and project management skills.

In the past 12 months, we have delivered a range of projects related to (1) development of custom trade model, (2) modelling impacts of trade policies and tariffs for major MNEs, (3) publishing thought-leadership reports for public audience on the topics of FDI, climate change and carbon markets, and (4) writing reports for the prime minister office of an emerging country on their macroeconomic prospects and key policy strategy. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting a wide range of macro consultancy projects for clients in the Asia.
  • Contributing to proposals and client pitches
  • Production of ad-hoc scenarios for clients.
  • Support the sales team. 
  • Dealing with client queries.
  • The position is likely to involve travel within the Asia region.


Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Strong academic education in Economics at postgraduate level
  • Previous experience in using applied macroeconomics models for forecasting and/or scenario analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams across different offices and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
