Salary Range - $67,100 - $71,820

JOB SUMMARY

The Website Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the company’s websites, both internal and external; managing updates, user experience, and content integration. The role requires a blend of creative skills, technical expertise, and project management to enhance the digital presence of the organization and ensure the website aligns with branding and business objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The functions performed by employees in this position may include the following:

  • Coordinate and manage the design, layout, and structure of the company’s website, ensuring it is visually appealing, functional, and user-friendly.
  • Collaborate with Communications team to create optimized web pages (copy, images, multimedia) for product/service promotions, landing pages, and blogs.
  • Ensure content is regularly updated and ensure its alignment with search engine optimization.
  • Regularly review and update the website’s design to maintain its relevance and appeal.
  • Coordinate with developers to address and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, designers, or agencies as needed for specific design projects or technical improvements.
  • Assist in managing the integration of marketing tools, CRM systems, or third-party platforms into the website.
  • Make data-driven recommendations for optimizing site performance and increasing user engagement.
  • Other similar duties as assigned

COMPLEXITY OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of:

  • Website design principles, including user-centered design, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
  • Visual design principles, including color theory, typography, and layout expertise.
  • Design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) or other design software like Sketch, Figma, or Canva.
  • SEO best practices to optimize websites for search engines.
  • Web analytics tools like Google Analytics to measure and track site performance.
  • UX understanding principles and user testing methodologies to ensure websites are user-friendly and meet audience needs.
  • Wireframing, prototyping, and user journey mapping familiarity.
  • Project management methodologies and tools.
  • Web accessibility standards (WCAG) to ensure websites are accessible to users with disabilities.

Skills In:

  • Designing and building websites, including integrating responsive designs for mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Written and verbal communication to liaise with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Creative thinking to develop solutions for complex design or functionality challenges.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage resources, timelines, and project milestones.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure all website elements are accurate, functional, and visually appealing.
  • Confidently managing multiple aspects of a website project simultaneously, from design to launch.

Abilities to:

  • Conceptualize and develop innovative design ideas that align with brand guidelines and target audience preferences.
  • Adapt to evolving design trends, technological advancements, and user needs.
  • Lead or coordinate teams of designers, developers, or other stakeholders, providing direction and feedback when needed.
  • Work with clients and internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, ensuring designs meet their expectations.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues on websites or with design elements efficiently.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in web design, development, and digital marketing.
  • Create prototypes and wireframes for websites and user interfaces.
  • Clearly present ideas and design concepts.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to websites and design elements.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects within tight deadlines.
  • Integrate social media platforms, blogs, and other digital content into websites to enhance engagement.  Understand HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies.
  • Manage, timelines, scope, and the budget for website and design projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Digital Marketing,  Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in website management, web design, or digital communications.
  • Proficiency in website platforms (WordPress, Shopify, etc.), HTML, CSS, and web design tools (Interact, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, etc.).
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Telework may be required based on the needs of the agency, division, and section.  If applicable, applicant must be willing and able to BOTH works on-site and telework at an off-site location, generally in the applicant’s home.  Applicant must have a secure internet connection and a dedicated telephone (landline) or smart phone device during scheduled working hours.
