Job Description

- Ensure proper patient identity by checking two forms of identification per hospital policy, and confirming physician orders.
- Attend and complete all mandatory meetings and in-services, as well as assigned continuing education.
- Complete and maintain departmental competency checklists.

- Identify and report issues and concerns to effectively solve problems.
- Show interest and actively participate in Process Improvement projects, both departmentally and hospital wide.

- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
- Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Radiologic Technology or 1-year experience working as an Imaging Associate.
Required License/Certifications/Registrations
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography, ARRT (R). New grads must be registered within 90 days of hire.
- Current BLS card within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first. Acceptable courses are American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations
- Licensed by the Kansas Board of Healing Arts (LRT).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and proper radiological positioning in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Demonstrates competency in ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Completes continuing education biannually in accordance with Kansas State and ARRT regulations for current licensing and registration purposes.
- Demonstrates ability to verify physician orders, insure proper reason for procedures and safely administer imaging contrast agents.

- Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
