Position Summary
The Medical Assistant Lead supports clinic operations by providing direct patient care while assisting in coordinating the daily activities of the medical assistant team. This role serves as a liaison between MAs and clinic leadership, guiding day-to-day workflow and supporting new and existing staff in delivering high-quality patient care. The MA Lead is responsible for maintaining clinical supplies, ensuring documentation accuracy, promoting team communication, and optimizing patient flow and experience, in accordance with OSHA/WISHA and other regulatory guidelines.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday - Friday from 8am - 5pm.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the MA Lead include, but are not limited to:
Perform standard MA responsibilities including rooming patients, obtaining vitals, and assisting providers during exams and procedures
Prepare, clean, and restock exam rooms; manage clinical supplies and instruments
Document patient interactions accurately in the electronic medical record
Assist with phone triage, follow-up calls, and patient communication as needed
Ensure adherence to HIPAA and clinical safety protocols
Act as a point of contact for MA peers, answering clinical workflow questions and offering guidance
Support onboarding and peer training of new MAs
Monitor daily MA task completion and help prioritize workload when needed
Communicate workflow issues or staff needs to clinic leadership
Foster a supportive, team-oriented environment by modeling professionalism and patient-centered care
Assist in coordinating daily MA coverage and scheduling adjustments
Participate in team huddles and act as liaison between MAs and management
Help track supply needs and support inventory organization
Education/Experience
High school graduate or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred, but not required
Current Washington State Medical Assistant Certification preferred, but not required (see above)
2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting required
Experience supporting peers, training new staff, or coordinating workflow preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medications
Familiarity with or working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records
Basic computer knowledge and skills, including data entry
