The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is an Acciona-Ghella general partnership to deliver a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC-Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus. Once complete, it will provide fast, frequent, and convenient service to B.C.’s second largest jobs centre, world-class health services, an emerging innovation and research hub, and growing residential communities.Reporting to the MEP Manager / System Installation Manager, the MEP Superintendent is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and overseeing Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) construction activities.
This role ensures effective coordination between subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality results in accordance with project specifications, schedules, and safety standards. The MEP Superintendent plays a key role in resolving technical issues, managing interfaces, and facilitating efficient construction operations across all stakeholders.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for MEP material deliveries and logistics coordination.
- Monitor, coordinate, and oversee MEP work performed by subcontractors to ensure alignment with project plans and timelines.
- Identify, coordinate, and resolve interferences, clashes, and construction challenges across disciplines.
- Participate in daily coordination meetings to review progress, address issues, and plan upcoming activities.
- Track and evaluate MEP performance, identifying and reporting any deviations from project requirements or schedules.
- Collaborate with MEP coordinators to plan, sequence, and prepare work packages for subcontractors.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and third parties to review and validate shop drawings, technical submissions, and documentation.
- Coordinate integration activities, including testing and commissioning, ensuring proper notification and execution.
- Provide technical input and practical solutions to improve construction efficiency and outcomes.
- Coordinate interfaces between station works and tunnel systems to ensure seamless integration.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date project documentation and records.
- Take initiative in identifying improvement opportunities and perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Competencies
Experience/Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
- 10 years of experience in a construction environment, with a focus on MEP systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and fire protection systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical reports, specifications, drawings, and construction documents.
- Proven experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- Experience with tunnel projects and ventilation systems is considered an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $145,000 - $175,000 CAD, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and the overall scope of the role. Given the unique nature of this position, which blends HR partnership with operational execution, we are seeking a candidate with strength across both areas, and those with exceptional experience may be considered at the higher end of the range or positioned accordingly.
