We invite applications for a Post Doctoral Scholar to work under the direct supervision of Prof. Joshua Smyth in the Department of Psychology at The Ohio State University. These positions will broadly be working on research related to the dynamic relationships amongst stress, emotion, behavior, and health in daily life, and the development of interventions to enhance outcomes. The specific responsibilities of the candidate will depend on candidate skills, interests and goals, as well as fit with our research priorities. There are opportunities to work on laboratory-based, field, and/or intervention studies, and have extensive already-collected data available for secondary analysis. Responsibilities will generally include data analyses; preparation of manuscripts and conference presentations; contributing to grant preparation; data collection and/or management; and participation in interdisciplinary research groups. The post doctoral scholar will have extensive opportunities to publish, access to exceptional resources to facilitate their independent research and will be part of a dynamic group of interdisciplinary scholars within an outstanding research-focused department. The initial appointment will be for one year; funding is available for yearly reappointment contingent upon satisfactory performance.

Minimum Education Required

PhD in Health Psychology or related discipline.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have obtained or will obtain a PhD (with a focus on health psychology/behavioral medicine or a related domain) by the start of hire and demonstrate a history of high-quality and productive relevant research (as documented by research publications).

Desired Qualifications

Applicants with experience in relevant research domains (e.g., stress, emotion, intervention), ambulatory assessment methodologies (e.g., EMA, wearable devices), advanced statistical approaches (e.g., MLM), grant writing, and clearly articulated research and training goals are highly preferred.
