Job Description
The 1st Shift Lab Technician (6AM-2:30PM) position is within our KOST USA division. We are looking for someone who can execute work with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
Obtaining samples for testing from various locations throughout the facility.
Following established lab testing procedures.
Accurately testing and reporting results on customer provided samples, raw materials, flush totes, water, and finished products.
Performing batch production correction and lab scale blending as part of this function.
Accurately maintaining record keeping, sample retention, and document retention.
Completing and submitting appropriate documentation to necessary departments and/or accurately retaining documents electronically via scanning of documents.
Generating certificates of analysis.
Preparation and mailing of customer requested product samples.
Preparation and mailing of fluid analysis program sample kits and sales field kits.
Timely communication to co-workers (both inter- & intra- departmentally) within the facility regarding the status of sample analysis when necessary.
Organizing and maintaining cleanliness of the working environment.
Performing calibration & verification of lab equipment as necessary.
Actively participating in multi-departmental communication meetings.
Initiating the non-conformance process and starting communication to necessary parties when products or raw materials are non-conforming to established specifications.
Initiating root cause investigations & corrective action as necessary in conjunction with Lab Manger direction and input.
Other duties may be assigned.
Required Experience:
Associate degree in chemical technology or related field; an equivalent amount of job experience and college level Chemistry oriented lab is acceptable.
Prefer 3+ years laboratory experience in a quality laboratory or similar laboratory setting with experience utilizing QC/QA concepts & techniques.
Ability to operate and troubleshoot multiple analytical instrumentation within the laboratory.
Physical Demands:
Employee must have the ability to visually differentiate between colors and shades of colors. Employee must have the ability to differentiate common odors of base antifreeze components.
Forklift driving and movement of products within the facility will be required as necessary.
