Candidate will drive projects in collaboration with and guidance from materials team manager/members. Help support testing, sample preparation, analytical activities in Chemelex R&D team.
Key Role Responsibilities
Conduct research projects to support innovation
Evaluate and develop new technical capabilities: materials, compounds, testing methods/tools
Develop and execute test plans to verify product design intent and compliance with codes and standards
Conduct competitive testing
Provide support for 3D projects, technical investigations and operational improvement projects
Prepare, write, and generate technical reports, work instructions/SOPs
Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, operations, supply, quality, and sustaining engineering to ensure strong awareness, communication, and cross functional support
Qualifications and Experience
Enrollment in a four-year degree program or above in Science or Engineering field
Student pursuing undergraduate/masters/Ph.D. degree or candidates who have recently finished their degree program
Good to have prior lab-based hands-on experience on polymeric materials and metals
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge (classroom setting) on polymers/metals/electronics/electricals is desired but not required
Ability to develop a test plan to demonstrate capability.
Fundamental knowledge about materials characterization techniques (desired but not required), including Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Optical Microscopy, and Instron mechanical testing.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to succeed in a team environment
Ability to function effectively both as a self-starter (individual contributor), as a member of multi-disciplinary teams
Pay Transparency
Chemelex’s pay scale is based on the expected range of compensation for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $24/hour
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation.
