The Optimization Tech, working under limited supervision, is responsible for analyzing real-time data through Xspoc, SCADA monitoring and optimizing well performance. This role collaborates with engineers, operators, and foremen to enhance well operations, particularly for producing and underperforming wells. The operator manages subsurface well maintenance, including dynamometer tests, fluid shots, and Formation Bottomhole Pressure (FBHP) surveys. Additionally, the Tech ensures compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards, while identifying opportunities to reduce operational costs and improve job efficiency and safety. The role also contributes to the training and development of junior employees and serves as a communication point for field operations, particularly during emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Optimization: Conducts real-time data analysis using SCADA systems to facilitate informed decision-making and manage complex processes.
Collaboration: Techs collaboration with Engineers, Foremen, and Lease Operators to optimize well performance, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to well and route reviews.
Well Maintenance: Manages minor subsurface well maintenance, including non-BOPE jobs (e.g., swabbing, slickline, jet pump-plunger maintenance, hot oil/water treatments, routine testing, chemical batch jobs, etc.), and performs dynamometer tests, fluid shots, and FBHP surveys as required.
Subject Matter Expertise: Provides expertise in field operations, artificial lift, surface facility equipment operation and repair, oil and gas wells, and time management practices.
Compliance: Ensures compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety standards through close coordination with Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and Environmental Health and Safety teams.
Cost and Efficiency Improvements: Identifies and implements opportunities to reduce operational costs, decrease production variance, and improve efficiency and safety based on expertise in field operations.
SOP Development: Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance processes, contributing to safe and efficient operations.
Training and Mentorship: Assists in the orientation and training of junior staff, sharing knowledge on artificial lift optimization, controls monitoring, and production operations.
Field Operations Communication: Serves as the primary point of contact when troubleshooting field operations, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
Safety: Maintains the right and obligation to stop work in unsafe conditions, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
Education:
High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or higher secondary education, or commensurate work experience.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in E&P operations, specializing in Lease Operations, Process Optimization, Equipment Operations and Repair, or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.

Experience with XSPOC or equivalent optimization software.
Proficient using Echometer Equipment tools.
