As a Polypipe Fusion Assembler, you’ll work in a clean, climate‑controlled shop using advanced fusion technology to build high‑quality plastic pipe systems. You don’t need decades of experience — just solid mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to doing precise, reliable work.
What You’ll Do
Pipe Prep & Setup
- Measure, cut, clean, and prep plastic pipe and fittings
- Face and align pipe ends to meet fusion standards
- Confirm material specs and dimensions before assembly
Fusion & Assembly Work
- Set up and operate butt, socket, and sidewall fusion equipment
- Monitor temperature, pressure, and cycle times for proper fusion
- Perform fusion operations to create strong, leak‑free joints
- Assemble piping systems to match drawings, specs, and customer requirements
- Use the DataLogger® to record fusion data and upload to the Vault®
- Spot quality issues and help resolve them
Safety & Standards
- Follow all safety procedures and use required PPE
- Participate in safety training and help maintain a safe workspace
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED (technical/vocational training is a plus)
- Ability to read blueprints and visualize 3D layouts
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems; fusion experience is helpful but not required
- Comfortable operating and troubleshooting mechanical/hydraulic equipment
- Basic computer skills for viewing digital drawings and entering data
- Strong work ethic, communication skills, and reliability
- Willingness to travel occasionally for on‑site equipment setup or repairs
Work Environment
- Hands‑on role with frequent standing, bending, and squatting
- Climate‑controlled shop and warehouse environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; lifting devices available when possible
- Some work in tight or confined spaces around equipment
