The HKUST-STANDARD Joint Laboratory for Embodied AI Robotics is seeking a high‑calibre manager to join the team.  Reporting directly to the Director of the joint laboratory, the manager will play a crucial role in leading the operation and development of the joint laboratory, while actively engaging with external partners and stakeholders, including industry and government, to drive impactful collaborations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as Executive Assistant to the Director of the joint laboratory;
  • Monitor and manage the budget in the joint laboratory in accordance with the University's financial rules and regulations;
  • Coordinate and arrange seminars, webinars, promotional events and laboratory visit in support of the brand-building of the joint laboratory;
  • Liaise with companies and government officials in Hong Kong and Mainland China to promote the joint laboratory;
  • Oversee the smooth operation and administration of the assigned laboratory in support of the research needs of faculty/students;
  • Assist in the preparation of scientific proposals and grant applications, ensuring timely submission of required documents;
  • Maintain website and databases promptly and in an effective manner; and
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor(s).

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a scientific field and possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant post‑qualification full-time experience. The ideal candidate should have a clear goal and objective-oriented mindset and be able to take on a certain level of responsibility. Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical mind and communication skills with both written and verbal skills in a high-level competency are essential. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
