Summary of Job:

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the consistent financial planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting activities in accordance with corporate policies and procedures. The incumbent will ensure the development of and implementation of financial controlling standards and processes. The Finance Manager will provide high quality analysis and evaluation of financial performance to inform management decisions and underpin effective statutory and other financial reporting requirements. The Finance Manager is a member of the leadership team and partners with stakeholders to provide insightful, technical and strategic financial advice to support company and operational decision making.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensures the complete and accurate record-keeping of company transactions are performed within the US and Australian GAAP
  • Management of Moog Australia’s budget process and driving the quarterly budget reviews and  forecasts with the management team
  • Management of the month-end and year-end closing process and preparation of monthly and annual corporate reporting requirements
  • Management and compliance of local, state and federal government reporting requirements, yearly financial reports preparation, income tax and Local file lodgment
  • Management of the, Monthly BAS and Yearly FBT lodgments.
  • Management of the annual review of the labour rates and other related costing rates.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure proper compliance with all regulations
  • Report variance of revenue, operating expenses, direct margin or investment/contract to provide an accurate financial situation with identification of risk and opportunity
  • Analyses, recommends and approves investment or profitability of complex files or projects (e.g. infrastructure, new products and promotions) and selects those that support Moog Australia’s strategy and optimize its commercial position
  • Develops financial plans, organizes product structure in a business logic way and supports/advises in decision making, investment and customer offers
  • Initiates, coordinates and tracks financial processes improvements and ensures the respect for financial standards and best practices
  • Provide training, guidance and direction to the finance team to ensure work is performed in an efficient, timely and knowledgeable manner
  • Maintain good corporate relations with customers, vendors, auditors, tax advisors, banking institutions, sister companies, SDG and Corporate Finance teams and other affiliates.

Qualifications: 

  • Required
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
    • Chartered Accountant Qualification (e.g CPA/CA)
  • Desired
    • Advanced study in Accounting, Finances, Taxes & US GAAP

Work Experience: 

  • Required
    • Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience
    • Minimum 5 years of proven work experience in a senior finance position
  • Advantageous
    • Multinational Company experience
    • Defence Industry manufacturing experience

Suitability:

  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and Financial Reporting tools (QAD or OneStream is an advantage)
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication

Eligibility:

  • Must be an Australian citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain the required Australian security clearance. Continued employment beyond the six‑month probationary period is conditional on being granted the appropriate clearance.
  • Must satisfy police checks and employment screening verification including employment reference checks
  • Must be able to access information controlled under the US International Traffic of Arms Regulation (ITAR) which in some circumstances can place limitations on persons who hold dual nationality, permanent residency or are former nationals of certain countries as per ITAR 126.1
