Job Description

Remote Status: Hybrid Job Id:  13781-SDN # of Openings:  1
Auria is looking to hire a Cloud Architect to support a classified mission operations program for the U.S. Space Force. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and owning the AWS cloud architecture supporting a mission-critical classified environment, including authorization boundary documentation and cloud service configuration.

Primary work location is Colorado Springs, CO (hybrid). Travel to Government and Auria facilities may be required.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
  • Design, implement, and maintain the AWS cloud architecture for a classified mission operations environment, including workload placement, network segmentation, and IL4/IL5 boundary definitions.
  • Own and lead the Interim Authority to Test (IATT) package: boundary documentation, data flow diagrams, cloud service configuration inventory, and technical artifacts required for authorization.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with AWS Professional Services, ensuring Auria retains architectural ownership and that external deliverables align with program requirements and ATO strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Network Architect to define the classified network stack and ensure cloud boundary documentation is consistent with authorization requirements.
  • Work with the Cybersecurity Lead to align cloud architecture with the RMF package — SSP, boundary assumptions, and control implementation — from the outset of the ATO process.
  • Establish and document cloud architecture standards, configuration baselines, and infrastructure-as-code patterns for use by the DevSecOps and Cloud Engineering teams.
  • Lead infrastructure provisioning automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent IaC tooling in a DoW classified cloud environment.
  • Provide technical direction to Cloud Engineers and serve as the escalation point for cloud architecture and AWS platform issues.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
  • Mission-Driven Professional: Collaborative contributor motivated by the opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that protect and serve both the nation and the world.
  • U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government Top SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10–15 years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture roles, with demonstrated technical leadership on mission-critical classified systems.
  • Deep proficiency in AWS cloud services, including GovCloud environments; experience with IL4/IL5 classified workloads.
  • Experience developing and submitting IATT packages or equivalent authorization artifacts for DoW classified systems.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python; solid knowledge of networking fundamentals and cloud-native security practices.
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
  • Current U.S. Government Top SECRET clearance.
  • Experience supporting DoW, U.S. Space Force, or Space Systems Command programs in an AWS GovCloud environment.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture, RMF (DoDI 8510.01), and FedRAMP compliance in classified cloud environments.
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, Security Specialty, SysOps Administrator, or equivalent).
  • Experience with Keycloak or equivalent identity and access management in classified environments.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $153,269 - $200,000

APPLICATION DEADLINE: July 31, 2026
