Job Responsibilities:

Role Summary

The HR Generalist provides comprehensive human resources support across the employee lifecycle, partnering with managers and employees to deliver effective HR programs, ensure compliance with policies and employment legislation, and promote a positive, productive workplace. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, attendance and disability management, HRIS/payroll administration, training, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR resource for managers and employees, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and employment-related matters.
  • Support full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and orientation activities to deliver a positive candidate and employee experience.
  • Coordinate and facilitate training programs that support employee development and business needs.
  • Provide support for employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, and corrective action processes.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees seeking information on HR programs, policies, and administrative processes.
  • Administer attendance management, disability claims, workplace accommodations, and return-to-work programs in accordance with company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in Workday and Dayforce.
  • Support compensation, benefits, payroll administration, and related employee inquiries.
  • Promote compliance with employment legislation, company policies, and HR best practices.
  • Partner with operational leaders to support workforce planning, employee engagement, training, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Facilitate HR workshops and initiatives that support continuous improvement and employee engagement.
  • Contribute to special projects and complete other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Education

  • University degree or post-graduate certificate in Human Resources Management; CHRP designation is considered an asset.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably within a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using Workday and Dayforce is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide sound guidance, coaching, and conflict resolution support.
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate, and manage multiple activities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills, with a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The salary range for this position is $65,000-$80,000 based on experience.

This is not a hybrid position.
