Your impact

 

Reporting to the Superintendent, Drill and Blast, in this permanent team leadership position you will supervise drilling operations to ensure efficiency, safety and alignment with production goals for Newmont’s Boddington mine operations.


As part of our team you will

 

• Lead with safety, fostering a culture of care, accountability and continuous improvement
• Coach and develop your team to build capability and strong engagement
• Oversee daily drill and blast operations to deliver safe, reliable production outcomes
• Maintain compliance with all health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
• Ensure explosives handling, storage and facilities meet site and legislative standards
• Conduct field leadership activities, audits and inspections, addressing risks proactively
• Plan and allocate people, equipment and materials to optimise operational performance
• Execute drill and blast schedules aligned to mine plans and production targets
• Monitor performance against KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage risk through effective identification, assessment and control practices
• Provide clear, accurate reporting on operational and safety performance.

 

Prerequisites for your success in the role 

 

• Experience in large‑scale open pit mining environments (drilling and/or explosives)
• Strong commitment to safety leadership in high‑risk work environments
• Proven capability in risk management, inspections and compliance activities
• Demonstrated experience leading, coaching and developing diverse teams
• Proactive problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
• Sound understanding of incident management and investigation processes
• Current Supervisor and Explosives accreditations
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
• High attention to detail with solid planning and coordination skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn SAP and safety systems
• Current WA Driver’s Licence and unrestricted Australian work rights.

This permanent site-based position at Boddington mine and will be offered on a drive in drive out basis working a roster of 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 nights off. Mine accommodation will be provided.
