Job Description
Chemelex is seeking a Global Logistics Specialist to support our global logistics strategy, execution, and commercial performance. This role support’s a scalable, cost-efficient, and resilient global transportation network that supports our growth, customer commitments, and financial objectives.
This role will operate at a tactical level, supporting a global carrier strategy, contract negotiations, and ensuring consistent execution across all regions. The role requires a strong balance of commercial acumen, operational expertise, and data-driven decision making. This will be a hybrid schedule in our Houston office (Work from Home Mondays and Fridays, In Office Days Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday).
Key Responsibilities
Execute Chemelex’s global logistics and transportation strategy aligned to SIOP, growth, and margin objectives
Execute end-to-end transportation networks (inbound, outbound, intercompany) across all regions
Support global standards while enabling flexibility for regional execution
Own global freight spends and carrier relationships across all modes (parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean, air)
Support RFPs, contract negotiations, and rate strategies to ensure best-in-class cost and service
Support long-term, performance-based carrier partnerships
Ensure day-to-day logistics performance meets service, cost, and delivery expectations
Partner with regional teams to resolve capacity constraints, service disruptions, and risk events
Drive improvements in on-time delivery, lead times, and working capital efficiency
Monitor key performance indicators (cost, service, reliability, cash)
Execute cost reduction and network optimization initiatives
Partner closely with SIOP, Procurement, Planning, Manufacturing, and Customer Operations
Align logistics strategy with demand and supply plans to ensure execution feasibility

Qualifications & Experience
Required
3-10 years of experience in global logistics, transportation, or supply chain.
Proven track record in carrier sourcing, contract negotiation, and freight optimization
Experience across multi-modal transportation (parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean, air)
Experience supporting global freight spend and supplier performance
Strong analytical and financial acumen with a data-driven approach to decision making
Preferred
Experience working within a global SIOP or integrated business planning environment
Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), visibility platforms, and BI tools
Background in manufacturing or complex global supply chains
Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
Strategic thinker with the ability to execute at a detailed, operational level
Strong commercial mindset with negotiation and influencing skills
Effective communicator with the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders globally
High ownership mentality with a focus on results, accountability, and continuous improvement
