Job Description:
The Brokerage Supervisor I is responsible for managing the workload of hourly staff, developing team goals, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, and training hourly employees on compliance with regulations and requirements. The Brokerage Supervisor I maintains productivity and is well versed on international commerce and transportation industry changes. This position supervises hourly staff.
Supervises and Develops Others
- Sets performance goals and project deadlines that align with th e 'company's more extensive plans.
- Delegates work with employees, track progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Addresses problems with work quality and issues between employees in a practical, timely manner.
- Ensures employees adhere to UPS policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serves as a link between employees and higher management.
- Conducts performance reviews, motivates team members and creates strategies to boost productivity.
- Manages workforce planning tool.
- Maintains MOP and Training Logs
- Performs tasks as directed by management
Supports Account Management Process
- Maintains a high level of professionalism with customers and works to establish a positive rapport.
Role & Responsibility
- Periodically updates and reviews the stopwords (Intervention) list.
- Adds or deletes stopwords (Intervention) based on regulatory changes, operational needs and 'customers' requirements.
- Records reason for adding or deleting any stopwords (Intervention).
- Reviews stopwords (Intervention) with the Brokerage Manager.
Supports Brokerage Compliance
- Supports the Brokerage Manager in communicating customs regulation changes and industry news, deployment of compliance programs, resolution of exceptions, development of process improvements and corrective action plans to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, enhance quality and avoid governmental fines and penalties.
Coordinates Audits
- The ' 'department's SharePoint site is maintained with scheduled audits, corrective action plans, and completed audit documents.
- Monitors completion of corrective action plans and any changes to process based on audit findings.
