A Senior Assistant Caseworker, Office Support, Kinship Locator is a clerical position who serves as a resource to the professional child welfare staff by providing direct client services including: Assisting with searching for family/kin for any children entering state custody by using a variety of resource applications. Sending letters to notify kin, and documenting and notifying parental searches, vitals, probation and parole, and child protective services (CPS) with all of the back end information for the cases. Case documentation (case histories, activity logs, correspondence, etc.). Office support by receiving, handling, and dispatching complaints, and maintaining records of lawsuits and constituent complaints. May input data on computerized systems and maintain case files. Providing administrative support to the regional director and the regional administrative team. A valid driver's license may be required if an employee is required to transport clients. A Senior Assistant Caseworker, Office Support, Kinship Locator in this position: Prepares and/or processes documents; reviews for accuracy and completeness; updates information and/or evaluates against policy; compares elements for consistency or logical relationships, etc., for example, adoption subsidy paperwork completion, assisting with completing Medicaid applications, reviewing and submitting court documents for child welfare staff, etc.) Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines, etc. Maintains and/or creates files or record keeping systems. Sorts, labels, files and retrieves documents, or other materials. Provides assistance and/or on-the-job training. Acts as a resource for management and staff; provides technical support within areas of responsibility. Assists in covering the reception area. Receives incoming telephone calls and direct calls to appropriate office or individual using a central switchboard or multi-line telephone system. Greets and assists walk-in clients. Mails certified mail to clients or sheriff; tracking in SAFE case system. Retrieves files for workers, AGs, supervisors, and audits. Assists with 24-hour notifications and priors. Takes and transcribes minutes at meetings. Completing Clear Search requests for child welfare staff.
