At Newmont, our success is driven by safe, disciplined and high-performing operations. We are seeking a capable and motivated Control Room Supervisor to lead real-time coordination of our large-scale surface mining operation at Boddington.

This is an opportunity to play a critical role at the centre of operations — optimising fleet performance, ensuring safe production delivery and driving operational excellence across one of our flagship sites.

As Supervisor Mine Operations Surface, Control Room, you will oversee the real-time monitoring and optimisation of mining operations, coordinating people, equipment and systems to deliver safe and efficient outcomes.

You will work at the heart of the operation, leveraging dispatch and fleet management systems to maximise productivity, manage operational variability and maintain situational awareness across site.

As part of our team you will

  • Monitor and optimise real-time surface mining activities, including haul fleet, loading units and material movements
  • Utilise fleet management and dispatch systems (e.g. MineStar) to manage utilisation, delays and production performance
  • Coordinate closely with Open Pit Supervisors, Maintenance, Technical Services and operations teams to achieve shift and daily targets
  • Lead control room routines, including shift handovers and pre-starts, ensuring alignment on priorities and risks
  • Maintain the integrity of operational data, including shift reporting, delays, blends and incident documentation
  • Supervise, coach and develop a team of control room operators to build capability and performance
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental standards, actively supporting a strong safety culture
  • Support emergency response and manage operational disruptions through clear communication and coordination
  • Conduct field interactions and investigations to resolve performance or safety issues
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across dispatch, reporting and system utilisation

As a leader, you will

You will lead a team of control room operators, setting clear expectations, providing feedback and building a disciplined, high-performing team environment aligned with Newmont’s values.

Your leadership will foster collaboration across operations, maintenance and technical teams, ensuring issues are surfaced early and resolved effectively.

Prerequisites for your success in the role

  • Experience in open pit mining operations and exposure to fleet management systems such as MineStar Command for Hauling
  • Strong operational awareness and the ability to make sound decisions in real-time, balancing safety and production priorities
  • Proven leadership capability, with experience coaching and managing teams in operational environments
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders under time-critical conditions
  • Solid understanding of mining processes, including interactions across maintenance, planning and production
  • High attention to detail and discipline in reporting, data integrity and operational routines
  • Relevant qualifications in mining, operations, leadership or related disciplines (advantageous)

Your work environment

Working on a family-friendly 8/6, 7/7 roster with the opportunity to live locally or utilise DIDO accommodation, this role supports a balanced lifestyle while contributing to safe and efficient mining operations.

You will join a global organisation recognised for its strong culture, safety focus and commitment to shaping the future of the mining industry.
