Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure the cleanliness and sanitization of all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
  • Operate dishwashing equipment efficiently and maintain its proper functioning
  • Support the kitchen team by organizing and restocking clean dishes, glassware, and silverware
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, collaborating with fellow team members
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation guidelines for proper handling and disposal of waste
  • Assist in maintaining smooth kitchen operations by working closely with the culinary staff

Qualifications

 

  • Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashers.
  • Organize and store clean dishes, ensuring they are readily available for the culinary team.
  • Assist with kitchen cleanliness, including sweeping and mopping floors and removing trash.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards to maintain a hygienic and safe kitchen area.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Dishwashing experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
  • Able to read documents and written instructions to understand sanitation requirements, safety rules, equipment operation and maintenance, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Certification in food safety and sanitation is a plus.
  • Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and all holidays.
  • Stand for long hours, often in wet conditions.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs (racks of dishes, garbage bags).
  • Work in a hot, humid, and fast-paced environment.
  • Bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment safely.
